Lyme Disease Vaccine
For those walking dogs in tick areas (e.g Richmond Park and Wimbledon Common) there is now a vaccine ‘Merilym’ against Lyme disease. This is an unpleasant disease that is carried by ticks, and can be difficult to diagnose. It can also be passed on to humans. For optimum protection dogs need an initial course of two vaccines three weeks apart and then a yearly booster vaccine. We now have this vaccine in stock.
Lungworm
There have recently been some lungworm related, sudden deaths in dogs. Please make sure that your pet is treated regularly. It is easily preventable with medicines available from Vets, but many of the non prescription wormers are ineffective.
